Tariff Policies Change Rapidly – Pacifinex Keeps You Informed!

Last week, the United States issued a series of new signals on tariff policy.

On April 8, the U.S. announced that it would immediately impose a 50% tariff on goods exported to the U.S. by any country providing military support to Iran, with no exemptions.

Potential targets are widely seen as China and Russia, which have long supplied Iran with missiles, air defense systems and related technologies to counter U.S. and Israeli pressure.

Meanwhile, progress has been made on implementation. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) stated that its tariff refund system will officially launch on April 20, allowing businesses to file refund applications. Approximately 63% of simple cases will be prioritized in the first phase, with the remainder processed in subsequent phases.

Overall, U.S. tariff policy is simultaneously tightening and improving its enforcement mechanism. While managing cost changes, businesses must also closely monitor shifts in policy pace.
