The key tariff deadline of August 1 has arrived, and Trump has announced the latest tariff policy targeting countries worldwide.
On July 31, the White House official website released an executive order signed by Trump, confirming the imposition of new “reciprocal tariffs” on nearly 70 countries and regions, with rates ranging from 10% to 41%. Special attention should be paid to Southeast Asian countries: relevant tariff regulations for U.S.-bound exports apply to countries such as Laos and Myanmar. China is in the process of extending trade negotiations, and tariffs will temporarily remain at 10% (as brands focus on exports to the U.S. from Southeast Asia and China, these regions require close monitoring).
Countries not listed will uniformly apply a 10% tariff rate. If any country or region evades tariffs through transshipment via a third country, their goods will be subject to an additional 40% tariff. The new tariffs will officially take effect on August 7, allowing U.S. Customs time to make necessary adjustments and providing a negotiation window for countries that have not yet reached trade agreements.
